Environmental liability investigation regarding historical sources of contamination to upland sites, groundwater, and sediments including dioxins, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), pesticides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), mercury and other metals
Representation of clients at large-scale Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) sites, and support of the cost allocation and remedy selection process

Dennis Farley is the founder, President and CEO of The Intelligence Group and TIG Environmental, and practices in the areas of liability investigation, remedial cost allocation/cost recovery, litigation support and ESG/product stewardship. His areas of expertise include conducting and directing environmental liability investigations for legacy contamination and compliance issues, expert support in dispute resolution, and related consulting services to corporate clients on a domestic and international basis. He has extensive experience in providing strategic guidance to clients on CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA and related matters.
Having worked on more than 60 Superfund cases, Mr. Farley has designed, conducted, and directed PRP investigations, managed Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS) and provided strategic guidance to PRPs. He has conducted investigations for cost recovery, liability assessment and PRP identification at industrial sites, landfills, river/harbor settings, and contaminated well fields both domestically and internationally for corporate clients, law firms, cooperating party groups and government agencies. Mr. Farley has extensive experience with contaminated sediment cases, working on several of the largest and more complex matters in the country. Areas of particular expertise include the role of combined sewer systems and municipal infrastructure; industrial discharge mechanisms and history; Dioxins, PCBs and other organic and inorganic contaminants of concern; and the preparation and reporting of evidence to state and federal agencies and courts of law.
Mr. Farley has conducted technical investigations for purposes such as allocation assessment, litigation support in toxic tort and cost recovery actions, PRP identification, and other internal corporate matters including compliance and fraud analysis. He has been utilized as an expert witness in various litigation matters. He additionally leads TIG’s ESG + Product Stewardship practice area, having significant experience with operational, supply chain, product contamination/tampering, and product liability issues across a variety of industries.
